With water sports becoming more and more popular, swimming goggles, as the necessary equipment for swimmers, are also evolving in technology and design. In recent years, the soft cover process for swimming goggles has become a hot topic in the industry, and this innovation has brought significant changes to the performance of swimming goggles.
There are many important reasons for the rise of the soft-coating process for swimming goggles. Firstly, soft coverings can greatly improve the wearing comfort of swimming goggles. Traditional hard swimming goggles are prone to pressure on the skin around the eyes after a long period of time, resulting in indentation and even pain. However, with the use of soft gel, the soft gel fits the skin and effectively disperses the pressure, so that the user will not feel obvious discomfort even after a long time of swimming. Secondly, the soft cover rubber adds excellent non-slip performance to the goggles. When exercising in the water, the movement of the body is large, and the goggles are easy to slip off. The non-slip property of the soft rubber ensures that the goggles can be worn firmly on the eyes, avoiding the frequent slipping of goggles which may affect the swimming process and safety. In addition, the soft rubber also has a certain cushioning effect. In a swimming pool or open water, where accidental collisions may occur, the soft gel layer can cushion the external force and reduce the risk of injury to the face and eyes, providing an extra layer of safety for swimmers. This also means that the choice of material for swim goggle wraps is crucial.
Si-TPV silicone-based thermoplastic elastomer is a soft elastic material with Innovative Soft Slip Technology produced by special compatibility technology and dynamic vulcanisation technology, which can be recycled and reused, and has a long-lasting ultra-smooth and skin-friendly touch superior to silicone, which is biocompatible and has no irritation or sensitisation when in contact with the facial skin. It can be moulded by two-colour or multi-colour injection moulding, firmly bonded to the lens PC, with good water resistance and excellent hydrolysis resistance.
Si-TPV is a skin safety comfortable waterproof material with excellent sealing performance to prevent water from entering the eyes. Used for swimming goggles frame soft rubber specific gravity is light, good toughness, good resilience, tensile deformation is small, not easy to tear, resistant to sweat and acid, UV, high and low temperatures, water immersion and sun exposure will not occur after the performance changes.
Si-TPV material is a class of Non-Sticky thermoplastic elastomer/ Eco-friendly soft touch material with growing application in rubber and plastics industry in recent years. environmentally friendly and non-toxic, it does not contain toxic o-phenylene plasticisers, does not contain Bisphenol A, does not contain nonylphenol NP, does not contain PAHs. Si-TPV material can provide suitable hardness, the current soft rubber TPE and silicone used in swimming goggles usually have a hardness of 45~50A, while the hardness of Si-TPV material ranges from 35~90A, which provides a wider range of choices.
Swimming glasses come in a wide variety of styles and designs, and most structures are made of a composite of hard plastic and soft rubber materials. Hard plastic mainly plays a support frame and lens piece, need to be strong and high transparent material, soft rubber material is mainly considered people wear in the face, and the comfort of human contact. At present, hard plastic is usually used PC, Si-TPV material can be covered by injection moulding, directly with PC material mask bonded into a whole, at present the vast majority of the design structure of the PC to the full cover, which undoubtedly improves the production efficiency.
